Hugo Octopus was inspired by the Victor Hugo exhibitions in Guernsey and the celebrated author's time spent here writing in exile. Unlike my usual practice of drawing from life, this piece takes a more imaginative approach—blending the literary legacy of Hugo with the island's coastal character, all rendered in my signature watercolour style.
