Hidden away in the backstreets of Venice, you need to know where you're going to find it—but this unassuming venue is home to the Venice Jazz Club. Imagine how Ronnie Scott's might have been before it became world-famous: intimate, authentic, alive with music.

This is a sketch of an amazing man—the owner himself. Before taking to the stage to play guitar and piano sublimely, he showed us to our seats and brought our wine across. He embodied everything that makes this place special: warmth, talent, and genuine hospitality. I was deeply honoured when this image was chosen for one of the club's promotional posters—a testament to the connection between artist and subject, and the magic of those evenings spent sketching to the rhythm of the music.
